At Brett Cutts Counseling, we are dedicated to providing compassionate and affirming support to individuals navigating the intersections of LGBTQ+ identities, neurodiversity, and experiences of religious trauma. Our mission is to create a safe, inclusive space where clients can explore their unique stories, heal from past wounds, and cultivate resilience. We strive to empower every individual to embrace their authentic self, find their voice, and thrive in their journey toward wholeness and well-being.
Brett Cutts is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over three years of group practice counseling experience and a Master of Science degree from Texas Woman’s University, one of the most diverse universities in the country. While earning his degree, Brett gained valuable experience working at the university’s Community Counseling Center, where he supported a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds.
During this time, Brett observed a common theme: while every client’s story and challenges were unique, many struggled to align with the vision of the person they wanted to become. This realization shaped Brett’s belief that true growth comes not only from addressing immediate symptoms but also from diving deeper into one’s thoughts, beliefs, and ideas.
Brett is committed to helping clients move beyond surface-level solutions to explore the core of who they are. Through this process, he empowers individuals to uncover their strengths, clarify their goals, and create meaningful change in their lives.
“My approach to counseling focuses on an equal and collaborative relationship between myself and the client. I seek to assist those working with me to reach their goals through finding their authentic self in a safe and supportive space. I hope to provide empathy and understanding while guiding clients to achieve their goals.”
I use a variety of therapeutic modalities in my practice, but my primary framework is existential psychotherapy. This approach is rooted in collaboration, where we work together to explore and refine your philosophy on life and the world around you. My goal is to help you build a deeper understanding of yourself, uncover new perspectives, and create a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
Existential psychotherapy focuses on some of life’s biggest questions—about meaning, freedom, responsibility, isolation, and mortality. Together, we’ll navigate these themes, helping you find clarity, cultivate resilience, and address the challenges that may be holding you back.
I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients in both individual and group settings. Throughout my career, I’ve supported people facing challenges such as: depression and feelings of hopelessness, anxiety and managing stress, suicidal thoughts and crisis situations, healing from abuse, complex trauma, and sexual assault, exploring existential concerns like a lack of meaning or purpose.
I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space where you can confront your struggles, heal from past wounds, and discover your strengths. Whether you’re looking to overcome obstacles, make sense of life’s complexities, or find deeper purpose, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.
